Philosophy

Story Street was created by Phil Cowan to contain the artwork, emotions, and stories that he was able to capture from all of the people and the world around him.

Some of his earliest memories were of writing stories and trying to capture the characters and settings with his art. This illustrative process continued through schooling and his careers where he found himself greatly influenced by words and phrases he read and collected- inspiration lay hidden between the lines. His current works are a layer cake of stories. A historical setting and character that interweaves with someone intimate with him today- multiple stories weaving together across time. His works contain a haunting depth that draws people in. The characters lure you closer long enough for the woven words to affect you.

In art as in life, everyone has a story.
